I know each week there are two choices, I cannot determine how each couple chooses their dance from these choices.

I think management of the show determines the choices depending on what couples have previously chosen.

I think the judges pick a dance but i'm not sure you may want to check abc's website to make sure my wife and i like the show...we love dancing.
as far as the "stars" being has beens some of the stars currently have tv shows or movies going on (i.e. Lisa Renna from last season hosts a talk show on soapnet) it's hard for many celebs to commit because as any dancer will tell you it's hard work.

My guess is they do heads or tales, pick a choice from a bowl or maybe they just compromise. Sorry I have alot of choices for your question

i DONT KNOW BUT HOW CAN PEOPLE CONSIDER THEM TO BE STARS? SHOULD BE ON "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO,...." ON VH1
