First of all, politicians (republicans in this case) throw around the ideas of christianity, god, jesus, good vs. evil, the good ol' days (that really only existed on television), and other BS because it gets votes. Thats what the baby boomers (the largest generation of people in america) want the hear right now. After 9/11 there was a rise in conservatism and religon (due to fear combined with the aging boomer generation) and guess what? The republicans milked that for all it was worth, Bush got 4 more years and the war went on. The oil companies recently recorded record profits...

First of all, don't confuse Jesus with politicians. And for one moment, try to entertain the thought that Bush may call himself Christian, but may not in reality be one. Many people do this. They ignore the teachings. They are not Christians.
Second, it is not any religion you need to be hating, it is what misguided people do in its name.
You asked what line Christians cross. I will tell you that as a Christian, I try to live in accordance with my beliefs. This means that lying to acheive riches and power for myself- I would not do.
You are right to be confused as to why a so-called Christian president would do this. Why would he want young men to die because of his oil interests? Why would Bush-Rice-Rumsfeld want to deceive the American people for their own gain? Why would any president neglect the American people the way he has if he had a Christian heart? Where is the accountability?
Just as I suspect it is with the Muslims, all Christians are not bad, and the teachings of the religion are for peace.
