I just answered this same question awhile ago
Vincent D'onofrio collapsed on set last season from exhaustion. To help him, NBC brought back Chris Noth *Detective Logan* to film 1/2 the episodes. So Chris will be in 1/2 and Vincent will be in 1/2

They're alternating the shows now so that D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe (Goren & Eames) are on one week, and then Chris Noth & Julianne Nicholson (Logan & Wheeler) are on the next. Next Tuesday will be Goren & Eames, and then October 10 will be Logan & Wheeler, and so forth.
I wonder what happened to Courtney B. Vance too. The show doesn't seem complete without a DA character, although there was a woman playing a DA named Kent this week.

From Vincents wiki
"Subsequently, the series' producers decided to lessen his workload for the 2005–2006 season by introducing a second team of detectives, Mike Logan (Chris Noth) and Carolyn Barek (Annabella Sciorra)"
apparently, he suffered from exaustion last season or something

Last I heard, Vincent had sort of a nervous breakdown and had to cut his time filming the show in half. I guess they introduced a new character to replace him.

I likely am no longer qualified to respond to this question on condition that I truly have in no way considered an entire episode of CI. although, even as i tried to observe an episode of CI it bored me, it truly is likely why I in no way were given to the right. I truly have considered many SVU episodes and maximum are very reliable. they determination from being very reliable to easily quite reliable relying on the ever replacing solid. see you later as Olivia and Elliot are there although, its frequently going to be between the better effective episodes.
