what are some things i can talk about on the phone that will keep me talking with whoever for hours? sometimes there's awkward silences so i'm trying to avoid that...?

music,movies,school,sports,family.FInd out about him/her. And if you get uncomftable you can always say that your mom needs the phone or something.

The best thing to do is to start asking her questions about herself. Things that you don't know or that aren't obvious and that you should already know without having to ask. This way it will take some of the pressure off of you to have to carry the conversation. Of course you will want to tell her about yourself too, but don't monopolize the conversation. Ask her about her hobbies or about her favorite movies or what kind of music she listens too. When you ask her these questions you are bound to figure out something that interests you and that you can add to the conversation. You'll be fine! Best of luck!
