I think the thing with vegans and their diet is they don't intake anything produced by an animal. Hence now cows milk, no chickens eggs, etc. And I think often it's out of principle on not wanting to contribute to animals being caged and used for meat and other byproducts.
A woman's breast milk probably wouldn't fall into that same category... at least not in this country.

Yes. Mother's breast milk is vegan if the mother is vegan. No suffering or wasteful by-products are the result of breast-feeding. Formula, on the other hand, is mostly cow-milk based and creates garbage and is not nearly as healthy for the baby. I hope this helps.

My bf's brother and his fiance are vegans and they have a healthy happy baby who will be 2 soon. She was breastfed.
As to what Poopie Johnson said, they are not hippies by any stretch of the imagination.
