Brazil paints a picture of the future in a way no one had done it before. It's more than a caricature of a lifeless and extremely bureaucratic world, where almost everyone works for the government. The funny thing is that, even when it's the future, they use computers that look like typewriters with a screen, and the clothing looks like it's the forties.
In that concrete filled world, the main character dreams of Brazil, and that's why the movie is called that way
