Women, mexicans, africans, asians, indians dont really seem to have a problem with the concept of being considerate of others. Sometimes you see the occasional exception but for the most part, the idea that you should respect the culture, gender, race or religions beliefs of others seems to be a reasonable position. Except to the angry white men.
I always here white men say, "YOU PEOPLE don’t have the right NOT to be offended?" It almost as if they are saying, "We've been free to insult, demean and embarrass other groups for the last 500 years. How dare you consider infringing on our right to do so?" Is having the right to be inconsiderate of others so important? If so, why?

Political correctness is a good idea gone bad. Now its a farse. Everything has become relative and twisted--we've allowed certain terms to be labeled as bad or innacurrate. Blacks are african-american. Well, what about blacks that are from say Cuba or Dominican Republic? They're not american but they're still of black race. Why is referring to sombody as "Black" bad? Saying somebody is "white" is not bad.
Illegal aliens has become undocumented immigrants or simply immigrants. Give me a break - they're NOT the same
Certainly, racial or ethic slurs/epithets are bad-- nobody denies that.
And it appear that you are being politically-incorrect as well. I just love how its perfectly acceptable to denegrate white-men. Hey, I'm white and a guy-- I have no issue with other people nor have done anything wrong to them-- why am I the bad guy because I'm male and white.
You should hang around with better class of white guys if you always hear those things.... I certainly do NOT say those sorts of things.

It aint just white men who think that political correctness is stupid. Many minorities and women think so too.
Look the concept started off well meaning but somewhere down the line it got hijacked by radicals who were not about being "considerate of others" but of redefining everything and everyone in society so much so that it became a lunatic farce!
I take it though by your LOADED question you're on a tear against white males? Grow up kid, don't take the **** that you learned in school so literally.

When schools teach nursery rhymes and change the words for example Baa Baa white sheep instead of the original and a Golliwog is no longer don't you think people have a right to get upset. Especially as most things are now weighted in favour of the minority.

Because PC is just a tool to attack us.
For example: If I call someone "black", people will attack me as being racist. To me, "black" is just an adjective, like calling somebody "tall". There is no hidden meaning, no subconscious racism in the word. It is just the adjective that people of my generation were taught to describe someone of color. However, they won't take the time to understand my point of view, they just hear any word that is not PC and automatically go on the attack.
Political Correctness is stupid and used for nothing more than the propagation of hatred and mud slinging.

I am a woman and I am offended that I have to be politically correct. The reason for political correctness in the first place was not to offend minorities and women, so of course those groups will want plotical correctness to prevail.

I am a white female and I think political correctness is crap! I'm offended by peoples offence at the dumbest things! Everyone needs to get over themselves, loose the ego and live your lives. Because political correctness is a hoot, it just got out of hand that's why. I have never been predgedous nor a bigot, it's not in me, but calling a blind person, visually impaired or a handicapped physically impaired, come on since when is blind a bad word, or handicapped, like I said it's gotten out of hand.
