unless he's bleeding and it gets into an open wound in your mouth you aren't going to get AIDS from oral.. and also if you are a monogamous couple and neither one of you have AIDS what are you worried about? it doesn't just spontaneously decide to kill gay people.. it affects everyone and anyone can get it, but only threw sex, drug needles, or a bad blood transfusion (which is rare) and a few other ways that very very rarely happen ... as for other sexual diseases.. there are a couple you can get that way, but most of them out there you don't get from oral. i think you can get herpes that way, but i haven't looked anything like that up since my sex ed class oh so long ago so don't take my word for it, go ask a doctor.

AIDS is not magic. If neither of you had the HIV virus, you can't get it from oral sex. It can't just appear out of nowhere.

If either of you had the virus or a sexually transmitted disease, you certainly could pass it on this way.

How do you know he doesn't have HIV? There are no signs or symptoms other than a flu-like thing a few weeks after you get infected; and that clears up in a couple of weeks. You are then infectious but have no symptoms for years. Have you both been tested? I'd suggest you do that now.

As others have noted, if you were sucking him, then you might get HIV if he came in your mouth, and if you have any sores in your mouth at the time.

HIV isn't that easy to catch - you have to be exposed to a sufficient quantity of the virus to become infected. Here's a rule of thumb. There is enough virus in an infected person in:

1 drop of blood
1 teaspoon of ejaculate
1 pint of saliva.

In other words, and blood/blood contact is VERY high risk - that includes unprotected anal sex, where the blood vessels in the penis and the lining of the rectum are all very close to the surface, and where some tearing is likely to occur.

However, you'd have to do an AWFUL lot of kissing with an infected person to get the virus!

it's always a possibility that you could get it. However I haven't heard anything about getting aids from oral sex.

Unless there is a sore in your mouth the stomach acid will kill the virus!
