Skip Navy Pier..Start out South at Art Institute (while your nearby checkout the Bean(millinium park) and Fountain. Next work your way north on Michigan Avenue (Mag Mile) Go to the top of the cock (Hancock Building), price of a drink is cheaper than going up the Sears Tower. You have to have Chicago Pizza, Pequods is best but if you have to settle do Gino's,Giordano's or Uno's. Also check out Portillos for a Hot Dog

My top three things for a day in Chicago would be the Sears Tower, shopping on Michigan Avenue, and the Art Institute Museum. You could also check out the Museum of Science and Industry, the Natural History Museum and the Aquarium.
There is no shortage of things to do. Just try to pick things that are close together, or just pick one and really enjoy it!
Happy Travels!

If you only have a day or less, then the above "big house" places may be overwhelming. Pick only one. The Field or Art Institute take several hours and can wear you out.
Here's a more low-key idea. Lincoln Park Zoo. Beautiful grounds, ponds and always open and free, Really great new Ape House. Fairly compact, lots of animals always visible inside and out (alas no more elephants). I always enjoy a walk arouind the zoo, especially this time of year when crowds start thinning.
You could make a half-day of it by doing the zoo, then walking south along the lake to North Ave beach. Great skyline views from breakwater there.
Oh, and take advantage of our great restaurants.

1. Walk along the downtown lakefront and make stops at Millenium Park and Navy Pier
2. Have lunch at Greek town. Try Greek island. order the flaming cheese (saganaki, I believe) and watch as the waiter lights it and yells "OPPAAAAA!!!"
3. Go to Wicker Park. Granted is a Poser Heaven right now, but everyone who visits Chicago should check out a REAL neighborhood and not go to the usual tourist stuff. There are a few shops there, bars, places to eat, etc.

Visit Navy Pier, Buckingham fountain and the Art Institute of Chicago. Navy Pier is a lot of fun and there is a lot to do there. Buckingham fountain just cause you can take some cool pics and the Art Institute because it has the largest collection of Impressionist art outside of Paris!!
I know some people said visit Millennium Park, but I think its overrated. Make sure to visit one of our many great restaurants in the city!

The bums sleeping on cardboard over by University Ave (they'll do just about anything for a buck!), the aquarium and the Fields museum. If your looking for somewhere good to grab a quick bite I recommend the Billy Goat Tavern.(it''s more of a restaurant than a bar) good food cheap.

you could desire to continuously have dinner on the ESPN zone after the sport yet whilst achievable try eating at Ed Debevic's. greater for the ambience than the nutrition - like it!! Used to bypass there each and every of the time as quickly as I lived there. Museum of technological know-how & industry is a strong selection yet be arranged to spend some $ there. could desire to desire to inspect their website & see in case you could pre-purchase the tickets you will desire. Any of the museums there are fairly reliable - planetarium & aquarium. yet they're high priced. North Pier - Dick's final motel has some great ribs. & in case you have in no way been to Chi-city, inspect Connie's Pizza & the Chicago sort warm dogs on the marketplace at army Pier. there is likewise the outstanding mile & Water Tower. it quite relies upon on in case you're seeking to stay frequently downtown or are prepared & waiting to pass in direction of the burbs. you besides mght could desire to desire to work out if there are any community weekend music fests around.
