According to Chaucer every man and his dog was trekking off to Canterbury and having story-telling sessions during overnight stops. Beats karaoke for Tavern entertainment.

If this is homework try looking on the Luminarium website other thanthat the black deathwasaround, so was the peasants revolt, quite abit of smuggling, a few wars but again if this is homeworth what you need to know depends on which one of the Tales you were reading. It also wasa time of an incresing middle classand an expansion of trade.

Rickets, starvation, fighting, drunkenness, prostitution, French wars (Chaucer was taken hostage by the French and ransomed by Edward 3rd). Not unlike what is going on today in our lifetime.
He is buried in Westminster Abbey. Nice to know nothing's changed in 700 years !!

I'm not to sure have you tried to read his books! There were butchers, the Crusades, and lots of medieval babes! Oh and he spoke English but its not like English today - the beer must have been good!

A great deal--the 100 Years War, for one thing--and the Black Death, I think, for another.
