In theory it might. Birds have crops and can not burp to expel gas. They need to swallow small pebbles/gravel to digest their food. I doubt you could get a seagull to consume enough ginger ale to accomplish this gruesome outcome, but it would surely cause it discomfort and endanger it's health. I once heard that if you place cruel people in microwave ovens they would pop like balloons. Would you like this theory applied to you s as the test subject? You may never ever consider doing such a thing, but by posting the question in a free forum such as this, you may have inadvertently inspired someone of such a bent nature to put this into practice, along with all of the other "helpful" alternative that have been suggested for this act of cruelty. Please be more thoughtful in the future of what you post. You can't un-spill milk once it leaves the glass.
