Perfectly legal so long as you don't pick them up on the street. If they're in their own home, there's nothing wrong with it.

Ignore the prophets of doom here. I've used prostitutes regularly for over 30 years and have never caught anything at all, even without a condom. (neither have any of my friends who often visit them as well). It's far better in many ways than a wife. You get what you want for a relatively small amount of money. no clothes/chocolate/flowers/jewellery to buy, no meals out, no "I've got a headache" and for enough money, they'll do whatever you ask - something many wives won't do.

No. as long as it is in their own home, rented or owned, doesn't matter. But you cannot persue them, i.e. walk and suggest. curb crawl, approach and suggest. What happens is you look up a phone number, and the maid answeres. she tells you the rates, the type of service she can give, an you may require, you come to and arrangementl You go along to the address. Have a cup of tea, pay the maid, go into the ladies room, do what you have arranged and paid for, leave, collect reciept if necesserry especially in Knighsbridge London England, where the maids get 140 quid for one day, so look what the action girls get, more power to 'em. better a man pay twenty pounds and go home to his wife, than date a slag wine and dine and run out of money for kids shoes. Always held that in my belief.. NO GOING TO PROSTITUTES IS NOT ILLEGAL IN THE UK, AND you will get better service and advice, as they ae fully trained...much better than the housewife from the vicarage in essex eh,...rock on.

I think it is illegal. Its called solicitation. Normally that may be the prostitute touting for business, but I believe that it also works the other way too. However, one of the earlier answers is also correct - it is the oldest profession and no matter what the authoritieis try and do it never seems to work.

I agree with 'Rationali...its certainly cheaper than a wife, it cuts out all the BS, and if you play it by the 'rules' its not illegal!
"Play it by the rules" means keeping within the law, and of course taking all precautions, against STD and personal attack !
You can pick and choose, you are not stuck with the same woman for the rest of your life, you can have a fat one, a thin one, a young one an old one, all on the same day if you can take the pace? its all yours for a few dollars (or pounds)!
Long live prostitution!
I hope my wife doesn't read this!!!

Its illegal for a person to solicit for the purpose of prostitution & its illegal for someone to " kerb crawl" in a red light area for the purpose of finding someone for paid sex, but I suppose if you want to pay someone for sex and its all done 'out of sight' then its no different to casual sex ......is it?

Soliciting for sex is illegal. Kerb-crawling is illegal. Keeping or visiting a brothel (ie more than one prostitute on the premises) is illegal.

Not sure how I know all this.
