There are several places you and the family can enjoy here in San Antonio. You can start by going to the San Antonio Zoo, while there, get on the miniature train. In the area is the Whitte museum. It's free on Tuesdays! But call first to make sure, I don't want you to think that San Antonians are liars. In the same area is Kiddy Park... it's fairly inexpensive.

If you want to know of all the hot spots, get a newspaper (Express News) on a Friday. It usually gives you some details on hot places you can visit. You can also visit MySA.com it's pretty informative...

I have lived here in San Antonio all my life, and so far I haven't been disappointed... everyone is very friendly.

By the way, welcome to San Antonio... hope your stay here will be memorable.

There is First Friday..... every first Friday of the month in the Williams area....which is near the downtown area but not quite, anyways they have like an sidewalk arts fair ...there is food booths and nearby restaurants ....and local artists bring out their stuff to sell...but it does get Very crowded on the sidewalk and you have to go early to find a good parking spot ...and leaving is difficult since the traffic is moving at a snail's pace...but there is a lot of neat stuff

Here's a map

Also...fiesta comes once a year in April, the carnival is fun for like the first 3 or 4 days then it become too smelly

there are some great night clubs on n.st Mary street that showcase live music. an excellent club that has great live jazz on the river walk. New Braunfels a small German town not far from SA is a great spot to unwind ,beautiful park and river..also the farmers market and some of the art gallerys on the river walk. the river walk and farmers market and especially New Braunfels Landis park kid friendly, family oriented.paddle boats kids have a blast on.

The Japenese Gardens are suppose to be nice since they remodled them, there are always new restaurants on the Riverwalk, try taking a drive up to the hill country. We like to drive to Fredericksburg or Comfort every now and then just to get away. If you like movies you can always go to the Mission drive-in, or you can go and see all the Missions in town. I still haven't seen them all yet. But there is lots to do here, enjoy.
