I think it's Anarchist propaganda.
Leftists like it because it advocates tearing down an existing social structure, something they do progressively or violently before they seize power and impose tyranny.
Leftists like the Soviets, Castro, Hitler (Socialist Workers Party), and many others have used similar methods of mob takeover to impose tyrannical rule. A bunch of goose-stepping or red-flag waving followers helped them achieve it.
When I watched it, there was a guy in the row in front of me who actually shook his fist and hollered "YEAH!!" when things got blown up. Hm...

Wasn't it a comic book? "This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vangquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis--vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Of course.
A right-wing version of V for Vendetta would show how the brutal oppression and dictatorship were actually a manifestation of a good, well-ordered society. It would tell the story as positively reflecting the dictator.
The movie, as is, thinks a good society is the oppossite of oppression and dictatorship....and the means of fighting oppression and dictatorship are justified by the ends.
You aren't saying you'd prefer a right-wing version of V for Vendetta, are you agi?

Of course not.
If right wingers recognize themselves in the blunt fascist regime that is fought in that movie,it's their problem.Read the link to see what makes V for Vendetta a must see movie.
If freedom of speech and tolerance are exclusively left values now,so be it

No, it's fiction. I guess the people it upsets so much would rather be fed lies and be cowardly slaves to religious impersonators masquerading as holy men. It was published between 1982-1988.

of course, because it paints a picture of a totalitarian government oppressing and deluding its population into complacency.
it then has an antihero that is deemed a terrorist who is a product of that government and its clandestine operations who is bent on exposing and destroying that government.
silly liberals. *sigh*
