lets create a country. build a wall around it 100m high. let the extremists live life as they want it. no modern technologies. no tv, no phones, no planes cars or nuclear bombs. indoor toilets? probably not. so put all muslims in this country and let them have their sharia law. we will continue to live life as normal, murder, greed, blasphemy, sloth, hunger, etc all the things that makes us us. let them have their islamic state and let them stay in it. if there are no muslims outside of this state then we cant do aything wrong to annoy the extremists. in 200years we will have reached the end of our galaxy. they might have invented disaposable razors

end of galaxy means we'll have progressed in science and technology but they'll still live in dark ages

Great idea! Isn't that sort of what the Israeli security fence is for? Well, you may not be aware that Muslims do not want a STATE, they want the WORLD.

Well, since the Muslims will not budge, maybe we can leave the planet. The technology of Helium 3 will allow us to explore and colonize other planets. China certainly has an aggressive plan for lunar mining of Helium 3 for earth energy applications and maybe for extraterrestrial exploration and colonization. The period of time when countries had colonies far away accessible by sea was very prosperous for those countries.

Do not be persuaded by Mennonites and Amish who shun modern technology that Muslims have the same ethos. Iran, for example is putting a LOT of money into developing nuclear power (for peace only they say). That is hardly anti-tech. What the Islamic state controls is communication, transportation and free speech. They control the exchange of ideas. It is not that they discourage technology it is that they want government (meaning cleric) control of it.

Actually, there are a number of Islamic states that live under Sharia Law. The most successful (that comes to mind) currently is Iran. It has a strong economy (mostly due to oil), a military that can defend the country, and is making technolgical progress.

I don't think that is really working out for us though....

The thing is, they don't just want a nation for themselves, they want to control all the land that they did under the Imams before the Crusades. Thus all the land from Persia (modern Iran/Pakistan) across the Northern Sahara and the Iberian Peninusla (Spain and Portugal).

There are a lot of nationalist states within the Islamic world who do not get along on many things. Many Muslims want to live in a modern world and few wish to live without the benefits of modern technology. Even the violent extremists appreciate the benefits of modern weapons. I think there would be a lot of difficulty in setting up this state. Anyway we are quite dependent on their oil aren't we?

These extremists want a huge state, from Morocco to China, and from Bosnia to central Africa. Thank God the West does not control most of this area. Otherwise it would have given it to Islamic fanatics and ethnically cleansed all Non-Muslims from there.
