I am experiencing my first period after my baby. It started with dark spotting then, a day or so later, red blood. Now, a lot of blood came out and there was some pink, stringy tissue. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? Is it a miscarriage?

Symptoms of a miscarriage include:

Vaginal bleeding that may be light or heavy, constant or irregular. Although bleeding is often the first sign of a miscarriage, first-trimester bleeding may also occur with a normal pregnancy. Bleeding with pain, however, is a sign that miscarriage is more likely.3
Pain. You may have pelvic cramps, abdominal pain, or a persistent, dull ache in your lower back. Pain may start a few hours to several days after bleeding has begun.
Blood clots or grayish (fetal) tissue passing from the vagina.
It is not always easy to tell whether a miscarriage is taking place. A miscarriage often does not occur as a single event but as a chain of events over several days. One woman's physical experience of a miscarriage can be very different from another woman's experience.

It's normal to have the dark spotting and red blood and pink discharge as well its called lochia and is normal after delivery but as stated by another person if you start to have an odor or itching and buring see your ob/gyn pronto. Also be use to change yor pad often to prevent infection from occuring. Should you go threw an overnight pad in less than an hour GO RIGHT TO THE ER as you are having a complication. Good luck and congratulations on your new baby.

No girl when i had my baby i bled for weeks straight. It's normal your body is just getting rid of all the tissue and blood left over. Don't worry just change your pad often. And if it starts to stink reallly bad go see a doc. because those kind of infections are terrible. Good luck!

You just had a baby? In any event, I think I'd see a doctor.
