Apparently so, because some of the people here acknowledge Bush can't run again, but seem to not know there is an election in 2006, they keep refering to 2008.

Yes that is indeed sad. It is also sad that so many replies from those who are opposed to Bush say that it must be Republicans who say these things, yet your question clearly says, "Oh no, another four years of Bush." And, "Bush will fix the election and get another four years." Those do not sound like the comments of Republicans, the people of the Presidents party. They sound like the comments of those who are opposed to the Republican party.
But what do you expect from the party who has so many of its members listening to high school drop outs (we call them Hollywood celebrities) and agreeing with them on critical issues.
The fact of the matter is that we have term limits in America, a President is only allowed to serve two terms.
To answer your other question, "Why don't so many people know who is up for election?" I would have to say that most of those who have declared their desire to run, have not said anything that differs from party lines and the status quo. They are still testing the waters and seeing which way the political winds blow before they come out for or against anything. We have politicians who don't stand for anything other than public opinion. They have no convictions of their own, and will speak out for or against the issues their party deems appropriate. Independant thinkers are pushed aside and called radical, or traitors to their party, and we end up with the same old situation just different faces, be it a Democrat or a Republican who gets into office.

Willfully ignorant usually. But, mostly I think they just want to rant - it doesn't matter to them that the things they say aren't logical, it makes them feel better. Even when they're on some other topic, it's usually just as uninformed.
And to WAKEUP (another uninformed person):
Yes, F.D. Roosevelt did get elected to a FORTH term. AFTER his presidency (because of it actually) the 22nd amendment was passed limiting Presidents to two terms.

Oh No?! Is Brother Jeb running for President? Unfortunately I don't know anyone who thinks Bush can run another four years. I have not seen anything posted suggesting that, i'd find it funny and just laugh to myself if I did see that kind of ignorance. I find it funny how no one remembers Clinton sent our troops to Iraq during his whole Monica Lewinski scandal - If you ask anyone about Clinton administration and bombing Iraq they won't remember. So you can imagine who's going to be running this country come 2008. I still think you should be able to pass a common sense quiz before you are allowed to vote.

Not many people are that ignorant. But some people are. And whether they are Democrats or Republicans (and i have seen both) who think that he can run for presidency again, we have every right to call them a moron.
MEL T apparently doesn't care about democracy as much as the rest of us if she wants any president to be able to run for more than two terms.
Youre missin, why do you call us liberals ignorant meanwhile you guys are so uninformed that you still support Bush!?! That is just pathetic. You obviously don't do enough research to see our side of the story.

I think the fact that Bush got elected president in the first place answers your question.

Everyone is uninformed about most things. That is the way it is. We simply can not learn about most things. We haven't the capacity. And most people of the world could care less when Bush steps down.
"Another four years of Bush" - Well at least we can easily know when. In most countries no one knows when their leader will step down. The USA is unique in that area. In most counties it is the politicians that determine when the next election will be.

I don't know but I'm glad he can't run again . He's done and he can retire with all his $$$$$$$$$$$$ . He will still have a hand in it though , he'll donate $$$$$$$$$$$ to people who support causes he believes in which is the republican party . If Bush wants to wage wars make his old wrinkled *** go over there and do it.

Yes, that many are uninformed - BUT the good thing is that a lot of these people don't go out and vote. They whine about it afterwords though.

Yes, there are many uninformed americans. It is sad that only 30% of eligible voters will even go to the polls. Many Americans are apathetic when it comes to politics and government. No wonder we get a bunch of losers in office.
