I once went 6 monthes without a period. pregancy was out of the question (I was a virgin). I finally told my mom and we went to the dr. he tried conspiring with my mom to give me a pregancy test... luckily my mom trusted me and that didn't happen :)
I was irregular like you, now I am on BC. birth control pill will regulate your cycle if you can deal with it's other side affects....

I had the same problem. I didn't have a period for almost two years. I went to the doctor and did home pregnancy tests. They did some tests that showed that i was 1/4 of the way through menopause. I started having a period again and now they have stopped again. I am bipolar and sometimes wonder if some of the meds I am on stop my periods. I am 46 and have had my tubes tied for almost 18 years but I will still get a home pregnancy test to see if I am pregnant. If I am I will shoot myself 46 is to old to be having babies especially since my first grandbaby will be here in November!!!!! Maybe you should talk to the doctor about getting on the pill to regulate your periods. Unfortunately I am to old for that.

you dot say your age, but one of several things...
1. you could be under a lot of stress/tension
2. if you are using certain medication, it could supress your cycle.
3. Extremly under or overweight people have been known to stop having periods, such as anorexics and or severly obese.
4. You could be nearing menopause, as you age your cycle may just be expanding out on its own. I have had three children and I am 35, and I am experiencing that my periods are starting and stopping at really strange times now, and they used to be on-the-dot regular!
GO see the DR! NOW! It could be an ectoptic pregnancy, it could be a lot of things, but I would *NOT* leave that office without a reason why I want getting my period! I would ask for an ultrasound, just to make sure there was no blockage, cysts, lumps, bumps, tumors, growths, or anything else like that if all else failed! Please make it your business to be pushy in this area, and demand tests upon tests!!

You should look up a specialist. I use to work in the OB/GYN Department at a major hospital here in NJ. There are other issues going on with your womb. You don't have to be pregnant, you might have some type of injury or worse. Go to another doctor or just look in the telephone book and call some other OB's office. Ask a nurse and if you're not getting any straight answers on the telephone, call a pharmacist even. But don't wait a long period of time because whatever it is, it could get worst.

Well, it sounds like this has happened before. For some reason, some women just don't have their periods on a monthly basis. My mom only had hers about 4 times a year, and she was perfectly healthy.
It sounds like you're a smart girl, you've tested for pregnancy, and you know your history of this.
It's probably nothing to worry about, but I still think it would be a wise idea to bring it up to your doctor on your next visit, (even if you do start bleeding first) they might want to check you for anemia or hormonal issues.
best wishes

So? Make an appointment.
If you are under the age of 22, you are probably just having erratic periods. You might want to go on pills to regulate it.
You might have cysts or some other situation. GO to the Doctor.
Depends on how old you are, and have you been pregnant, how long have you been having periods, are you underweight? Exercise a lot?
Dozens of things can affect your body.

Even if you bleed the day befor eyou can still go in so your doctor can evaluate you and give you some test's. Did you get a blood test to see if you are pregnant?
Stress is a common factor for missed period's however it CAN BE SOMETHING SERIOUS!
Also you said you dont have "normal" cycle's, have they ever been of like this before?
Good luck and please go see a doctor, even if you are spotting!

I understand your frustration, there could be several reasons your not regular but you need to see a dr to find out the cause of it. Normally the typical causes are diabetes, cysts, hormones (which if you take birth control that can help regulate you) and endometriosis, also you need to get checked because it could also be an STD.

definitly go see your dr. If you get your period just before the appointment, reschedule when you are done. Depending on your age, there are several different reasons why you have weird cycles.
