I am helping to organize the nursery care for a women's meeting, and would like to make a list of do's and don'ts for the caregivers when it comes to mother's dropping off and picking up their child(ren). Our employees have all helped in the church nurseries, etc., but our first meeting was somewhat chaotic when it came to p/u, drop/off of kids. I've listed: greet each mother, have them sign in, give each a pager. And for p/u the mom must return the pager, be greeted again, and be told of any concerns and/or praises. These are infant - 2yr. What, if anything, am I forgetting? =)

When I drop and pick my daughter up from daycare I have to sign in and sign out. They have the door locked, so a teacher there has to open the door for you. One thing I like is if I can't pick her up or my husband can't...I have to call a family member, give them a "password"...Call daycare and tell them that "so and so is picking up my child, and the password I gave them was ----".

I dont know how long your meetings are that you'll have these kids, but the parent should list any issues the child is having (teehing diaper rash certain food allergies, etc)...

Also when changing diapers, caregivers should wear latex gloves.

Also make sure the caregiver to child ratio is within your states limits.

How about sanitizing procedures? I'd like to see at least some sanitizing going on with all the exchanging and things between hands. =)
