No. Machiavelli has acquired an unjust reputation. His counsel makes a lot of sense for any ruler, and is just pragmatic, not misanthropic.
Whoever designs the policies of the White House has not the slightest regard for human life and dignity.

I don't think he will use the original Italian version, if he applies M's advice. But in general I think he will suppose that's what old Europe" is on about.
