I am an Undecided voter who is not interested in hearing the often quoted but often ambiguous statements used by both main parties. Sell your party and ideas based on your view of the way the political system works (or doesnt). Selling your party does not mean nor should it include petty shots at other political parties.

Personally I believe it is the Republican party because of its commitment to equal rights. Not preferential treatment and slave building (via public funded programs). The Republican party believes a person should be responsible for themselves and their family. The social programs should be the last option, not the first and final. Republicans want to bring back education to the levels we previously enjoyed, not the dumbing down to make the minorities look equal. This is an injustice to ALL Americans and a slap in the face to all minorities who are told they aren't good enough to compete so we will just make everyone dumber.

How about just registering for one and voting how you want all the time? If you register for one you can vote in a primary, but do not define yourself as one. Labels labels labels I hate them. People will argue till they are blue in the face. Just be a really aware voter and get down to the nitty gritty. Did this person vote well? Did any of the times they vote did that bill pass? Sometimes there are candidates that play a dirty little game. They only vote responsibly when their thing is going to fail. The rest of the time when threir vote matters they vote another way. Just watch very carefully. As to which party is more socially respnosible they will both tell you they are the best. It is up to you and what your values are. Take a look at all the issues and ALL your values. Think about many issues and not just one. Look at if the candidate backs up what they say not just does it. Vote for the person not the party. There is a thought that both parties are really the same anyway that they are controlled by a force way above them. You know that symbol the eye on the dollar bill? Too much to get into. I do not know. Just vote for who is making the difference in your life. If they are an incumbant looks at what they did before and how they voted before and what it actually did. Did that bill pass? Or was it just a bogus vote? What actually did their votes do?

Hope that helps.

On its face, this is an objective question.

Answering it objectively is impossible.

Depends on where you place the highest value. If social responsibility means what I think it means, then the republicans are the most socially responsible. Doing what's best for children and families (the cornerstone of society). Making people take personal responsibility for their choices (the Golden Rule). A strong military (protects the society from outsiders--keeps the peace).

Both of our big national parties do harm socially in my opinion. The Dems for giving out money indiscriminately and making the poor dependent. The Re-pubes for being too greedy to give cost effective things the poor really need like head-start and health care.
Unfortunately the Libertarian candidates I've seen appear to be nut bag conspiracy theory types.

Honestly, it depends on what you consider to be the definition of socially responsible.

Republicans believe that, to be socially responsible, you must give people the tools to better their lives. If they choose not to use those tools to get an education, learn a trade, get on their feet, etc., that's too bad.

Democrats believe that, to be socially responsible, you must take from those that have more and give to those who have less - no matter why they have less, and no matter how hard the person with more worked in order to have more.

So, basically, if you believe that people should do their best, try their hardest, and earn what they get in life, vote Republican. If you believe it's unfair that some people grew up with more money and had easier lives, and the government should take from them in order to give to those that have less - no matter WHY they have less - then vote Democrat.

There is no right answer to this question.Any elected official
should do for his/her office what's in the best interest of the
American people NOT what's best for their image or for fear
of retaliation. We all have to do some things in life that might not be popular with our friends/family,but,are in our own best interests.

Socially responsible? Democrats have that one, no question.
Democrats try to protect the environment, fund more educational and social safety-net programs, and have a general philosophy that government can and should help its people get ahead in life. They are for greater freedom in choosing and practicing religion AND freedom FROM religion sponsored by government, they support a woman's right to control her own body, and and are generally for equal rights for all citizens of all kinds (men, women, gay, straight, every race, etc.).

The official republican platform calls for less government intervention in citizens' lives and smaller government, but that's not how republicans have run things since they were hijacked by the religious right and big business. They cut funding for social programs by over 200%, they have curtailed enforcement of environmental standards and refused to pass more, they give tax cuts to the wealthiest individuals (supposedly on the theory that these wealthy people will then "give back" to the community through donations and investing in jobs, the "trickle-down" theory that has been proven wrong over and over again). The religious-right led party wants government sponsorship and support of their religious ideas (and only theirs), by passing laws to outlaw abortion, outlaw gay marriage, thin the line of seperation of church & state, and more. They support big business and big religion at the expense of the rights of anyone not involved in those two things, are against a woman's right to control her own body, against equal rights for gays and anyone else they don't like, and are in social terms considered "mean."

green party, without a doubt. it is the only party telling voters things they don't want to hear rather than trying to get elected for its own sake.
