What's the confirmation email? Confirmation that you have an interview or that they received your CV?
I'd prepare as much as possible by peeking into the different categories they offer and any unique, new services they have (like Yahoo Answers). You should also know how many countries Yahoo has local language sites in and how those differ from your own country.
To go the extra mile, go to another popular search site like Google and be able to compare the services. Is there something they offer that Yahoo doesn't? Or is Yahoo doing something unique and ahead of the rest?

1. Do your homework. Who works for them now? What sort of company are they? What is their vision?
2. Read the info you got with the application and make notes on the key areas they have mentioned as being crieria for the successful applicant.
3. Convince yourself that you are "it".
4. Practise answering the bog standard questions and then think more laterally. What else might they ask that is relevant to the job?
5. Think of a few questions to ask them. So that if they already answer one, you've got a spare.
6. Choose a style of dress to suit the type of work, but best to go smart, no matter what the job is.
As for the confirmation e-mail - if this is something you are sending to them, just keep it quite formal and state the facts - you'd be pleased to attend and mention the date and time so that if a mistake has been made they can get back to you to make the correction. Good luck!

If I had a job interview at Yahoo, I would check out Yahoo's Hot Jobs website and read: "A Crash Course in Interview Preparation" (see link below).
In a confirmation e-mail, I would like to have the list of people I would interview with, along with their titles; exact physical interview location complete w/ address and phone number, interview times, of course, and a contact number of my recruiter or person who brought me in for the interview.

I wouldn't expect to see any information in the confirmation email apart from the confirmation that you ould be attending, save all the smart stuff until the actual interview. And then I whould have a good knowledge of the company what the company represents average customer potential, history of the company and a really good question to ask at the end of the interview.

Do your research on the company. It's a big negative when a candidate knows nothing about your company.
Make sure you can explain your work history. Companies will want to know why you left a job, what you liked/disliked about your job. Most importantly, you need to be able to explain any gaps in your employment. Employment gaps can be red flags to an employer.
In the confirmation email, the company should give you their address, directions, date and time of the interview and a list of who you will be meeting with.

Different jobs require different things, such as: a t-shirt job is not to business but not to casual. so dress upper casual. look prompt, neat, alert, and ready for the job. show eagerness for the job with your attiude but stay cool. Show them with your attitude that you are ready and can handle the job. This is your time to shine. Show them what you are worth. Brag when you get the chance in a very conserative way letting them know that you are an asset. (but don't over do it looking bad or concieted) Tell them how far you live if you are close and tell them it is not a problem being on time for work. Tell them that you want to work to improve the company reputation and your own within the company. Think as if you had your own business and what you would expect from someone to work for you!! As for the (base) pay. When you will work. Do they pay one a week or twice a week (They do that in USA, I don't know how they are in the UK). Show good behavior and manners and don't forget to be yourself!! Good Luck!! I know you will get the job P.S. If they tell you they will call you don't worry, that is normal. wait 3 days then call them and ask about the (pending) status of your interview. If they says it is still in progess then call every 2 days after that and ask again. That will show them that you really want the job and they will be impressed!! GL!!

It depends what position you're applying for. Have someone practice with you asking you questions pertaining to your job.
When you show up for your interview,PLEASE don't show up with flip flops, jeans and a sweatshirt. Dress up, and don't forget the breath mints AND deoderant.

find out about the company you are gonna work for and what there all about deep down.
run through questions they may ask you and how you will answer them.
look at the advert of employment and break down what they are asking of you and think of things that tie in with it for you,
so if the want a manager think of all that you have done in management, if they are looking for a team builder think of all that you have done in school , work , home voluntary

pratice pratice pratice i would konw the history of the company and any thing they are able to advance in, know ur background and ur future, if u hand the interviewer a resume don't put everything down on it, leave one or two things off, this way if they ask u wat else have u done or wat have you worked on recently you will have something to say and not look like a idiot. look good. act like u already have the job but dont act cocky. be smart.
