I was just thinking how should I interpret this phrase and its getting me all confused since it sounds very ambiguous to me.

A moment in history when something or someone affected a change, invented something, or said something that had an impact on their community, country, or the world. Hitler coming to power was of historical signifigance. The discovery of what caused the black plague was of historical signifigance. The creation of penicilin. These are all good examples. These things impacted everyone whether for good or bad.

anything that had a impact on the way we live our lives, court cases that changed how we think. Events in history that people look back on that still have relevance for today

examples: Rosa Parks case, Nazi war Trials, Lincon's emancipation proclamation.....

relevance, importance, impact, controversy, advance, etc. in history, events that led to another important in the future, or serve as model or example of future generations
