I am 5 weeks pregnant, I still have menstrual period like cramps and the tight feeling. First of all has anyone else experienced this in their pregnancy, and I havent had vomitting yet, but i do feel like i am going to vomit in the mornings, i just don't. Also, if anyone has ever had a miscarriage, what is that like? do you know something isnt right?

If you are concerned you should call your doctor's office, they expect MANY calls from "first timers" it sounds normal to me...but you will feel better if you call and visit.
When preg. the first time --- I never threw up...but the second one... I did each morning. I had my third child five years ago-- threw up only during 2nd and 3rd months- and had cramping the whole nine months. All kids were normal--at birth ( I have teens, they are never normal... but that is another question)
Just call you will feel better.

Hunny i WAS 5 weeks pregnant a week ago, and i started bleeding too with cramps, and i felt all the symptoms, sore boobs, feeling like i want to vomit but i didnt, and i had a miscarriage last week, it was a normal type period but lasted 7days from the 13th to the 19th of this month no more baby :_( and what i felt like was a somewhat big blood clot coming out of my vagina into the pad. I think that was my baby! I didnt really feel too bad but the cramps was a sign and so was the bleeding. I hope this doesnt happen to you if so if you need someone to talk more about this email me. I know how scared ur feeling!!!!!!!

Cramping, especially in the early stages is normal. The main thing you really need to watch for is spotting or any bleeding. The nausea without vomiting..normal, and may increase. Just take it very easy, and if you really feel something is wrong, don't be afraid to contact your doctor. You really should be going in to see your doctor in the next couple of weeks as well to make sure you are doing good.
The period-like cramps will come off and on throughout pregnancy, but should they get very intense, be wary. If you get to feeling too badly, then you should try laying down, relaxing. Don't do any lifting until the doctor tells you that you can behave more normally. Really check everything by him/her because they will be the one to be sure that you are progressing normally.

Congrats!

If this is your first pregnancy, then you are going to be so scared that everything is a sign of something bad. Try not to obsess about it and just take it on a symptom by symptom basis. With my first pregnancy (I've had three), I did feel the menstral cramps. I even spotted a little bit. The doctor had me come in and he did an ultrasound. Everything was perfectly fine. If you have any quesion at all, just call your doctor. That is what they are there for. They understand that you are learning and you need thier help. Better safe than sorry. But to answer your question, I have felt cramps with all three children and I bled with one. Good luck.

I am also five weeks pregnant, just had first appt. today. anyways the cramps are normal, I have them too it's just your body adjusting. I have yet to have morning sickness also I get nauseous but no throwing up. (we should be thank ful) but it is so early and we will most likely get it in the weeks ahead. About the miscarriage thing I have had one about 3 months ago and it is basically really bad cramps (very painful) with a lot of blood. I am soo worried I'm going to miscarry again but I just try not to think about it. anyways I hope this helps to ease your mind. good luck with your future baby♥

You really should see a doctor about this. One of the first things that occur normally in a miscarriage is cramps and the "tight feeling". That tight feeling could be your uterus contracting. If that be the case, it may be trying to expell your fetus. You do not want to be hesitant about calling your obgyn.

some cramping is normal, your uterus is expanding, which causes the cramps. You don't have to vomit, i never did, just lots of dry heaves.

If you have a miscarraige, eventually, you'd have severe cramping, and bleed heavily. You don't necessarily feel anything is wrong for a while, for some, the pregnancy symptoms goes away.

It wouldn't hurt to talk to your doc but I had the same thing and he said it is because of the rush of blood to your uterus and is perfectly normal--it also got worse with every pregnancy, I have had 3. Try not to worry I am sure it is fine.
