If you find it embarrasing to talk to your mum, why not write her a little letter explaining how you feel, i am sure this will work.

Yes, it is embarrassing, when I was your age my Mum was so fascinated in my development it was horribel to have to talk about stuff like that. But if you want a bra and feel so bad in P. E. 'cos you do not have one you should have one. I remember being 11, you DO NOT want to be the odd one out. Anyway, at 11 your will be developing soon if you have not already and it gives you support and decency. Just say that your friends (name them) have bras now and you would like one, so it is not embarrasing when you have to change in P.E. It may be embarrassing to say that but it will be more embarrassing if you don't say it.

There really isn't any easy way to ask.
You're becoming a young woman now, you must learn to speak up for yourself--ask your mom directly. It would also be wise to include her when you go shopping. She will give you advice and make recommendations on bras that suit you best.
Remember there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

Tell then you have body issues because all the other girls have them(and most likely do not need them)and you want to join the rat race because having the bra makes you believe you have something to fill them with. So you are more womanly by proxy, because women have something they have to harness(so they think). Really, don't worry about it and stay from it as long as you can.

there has been a lot of good advice given here...the "I will never wear a bra in my whole life" made me laugh :-D, but it could work lol! But if you're mom isn't too much in humor, you could try writing a letter as someone mentioned...that's what I did myself, because, like you, I was too embarrassed to ask my mom directly.
I hope it'll work, and just don't forget, your mom has gone through exactly the same things as you!
;-) keep smilin!

Just go straight out and tell her, she's your mom, she'll understand. She went through the same thing at probably the same age! I always go to my mom for everything, advice, opinions, etc. It may be embarassing, but I'm sure there are many other more embarassing thigns that could happen! Good luck!

'Confused' (above) has already said exactly what I was going to say. Take her advice.
Also, girls' bra's are fairly inexpensive these days. Perhaps you could save your pocket money and buy your first bra yourself. They usually come with a matching pair of knickers.

Do you have breasts yet that need a bra? If you don't then don't wear a bra. You wouldn't wear glasses if your eyesight was ok.
