To ovulate means to produce an egg from which a baby can be formed.
If a woman is ovulating, she is technically not pregnant because once a pregnancy begins, a woman's body begins to release hormones to support the pregnancy. These hormones prevent ovulation and menstruation.

You do not ovulate if you are already pregnant and if you ovulate you are not pregnant. You only get an LH (luteinizing hormone) surge before ovulation; this is what an ovulation test detects. But DO NOT rely on an ovulation test to tell you that. Use a pregnancy test to be sure and double check your results with a second test, being sure to follow the directions and allowing enough time from your last period.

No. But if you have sex when you ovulate, you will most certainly GET pregnant. If you don't want to, you should not have unprotected sex the day you ovulate, the day before and the day after. Ovulating means your little egg is ripe and is on its way to the uterus. If it runs into a swarm of sperm along the way, it will be fertilized.

Ovulation means that an egg has moved from your ovary to the Fallopian Tube. You are fertile and will get pregnant if you have sex.

Correct. Ovulation is when the egg bursts from the ovary (this is when you feel the "cramp" in your lower abdominal region), travels through the Fallopian tube to the uterus. The egg has to be in the uterus in order for sperm to get to it, fertilize it and then it attaches itself to the uterine wall. Hope this little trip through anatomy 101 helps.

ovulation is when the egg is traveling to the uterus in preparation for the sperm to fertilize it. You are not pregnant if you ovulate but it can happen at that time.

Right. If you are ovulating, then you are not pregnant. That is the time you would want to have intercourse to get pregnant.

not always, but in most cases yes.
it is almost certain that you are not pregnant if you are ovulating, but there are certain circumstances where a woman will ovulate even while there is a fertilized embryo in there.

You can still have your period and be pregnant. A co-worker of mine had her period for 4 months while she was pregnant. Your safe and healthiest bet is to take a test and go see your OBGYN.
