Yes, it's possible....but it'll cost you.
They basically fertilize the eggs in a petri dish, and after three cell divisions, they take one of the eight cells and and extract the DNA to determine the child's sex, as well as check for various genetic abnormalities, etc. You can then decide whether to implant the microscopic little ball of cells, freeze it for later use, or destroy it.

i think this is highly unethical. the people that would do this....aren't these the same types of people that consider sex changes as a result of gender confusion to be acceptable? what about that? what if your child was supposed to be a girl and you decided to make it a boy and when it is growing up (i'm calling it an it because at this point i don't know what gender to refer to it as) it gets all confused and wants to have a sex change? then, you'll end up with a girl anyway and look, you spent all that money etc. on genetic alteration to make the kid a boy and all for nothing...wtf? seriously, people, let nature do it's thing.

I dont agree with choosing just for the perfect family. Choosing should only be for medical reasons only, eg. when having a particular sex of child will mean that child develops a disease. Other than that, nature knows best.

From what I understand, there are scientific procedures that allow you to choose the sex of your child. There are also some old wives tales that are said to help determine the sex of the child.

i think that some fertility clinics have methods were the child is most likely going to be a certain sex, but nothing is 100%. if you are really serious about this talk to your wife's obgyn and ask them to suggest a fertility clinic that might help you.

Yes - about 80% liklihood. Ask an OB-GYN. They can put sperm in a centrifuge and spin out the male-producing from the female-producing sperm and inseminate the woman with one of the batches. Expensive, but fairly easy.

yes the science is there but not used currently for the purpose you stated. There are doubts this will ever be the case as at the moment it is only and may i add rarely used for medical reasons.

There are a bunch of food myths. But thats all they are... myths. I'm sure if one was to invest enough money there might be a way to increase the likelyhood of the sex...
