Yes you are and if the price changes between the time the customer picked it up and the time they check out they have to pay the new price. If they don't like it they can shop somewhere else.
With that said, its generally a bad move to piss of your customers so it is customarily done by the overnight shift.

In a word - yes. Obviously, reducing prices is not a problem, but there is nothing to stop you putting prices up, even in front of a customer. And contrary to popular belief, if an item has the wrong price on you are NOT obliged to sell at that price - it's just good practice.

Not if the customer is there. If they know there rights they will be lawfully allowed to take the item. I got my washing machine for £60 quid when someone put a sign there by accident. I said i wanted it for sixty and they tried to argue. I said in the UK it is priced as advertised and the store manger said fair enough. it was meant to be 250GBP. lol

yes - its not a binding contract of sale until both parties have agreed to the price, so it can go up or down without notice.

Yes. Supermarkets do it all the time. People even queue up to have it changed when they see the guy with the yellow sticker gun!

yes, but if the price is higher you have to honor the lower price if they see you change it and want that item.
