Is it morally wrong to borrow somebody elses wireless connection if they haven't encrypted it? It seems to me that they are just sharing the love. I have had some serious abuse from some bitter people who seem to think that I am a theif! Whatever happen to free love man? I believe that the wealth of the internet should be shared and not jelously guarded. I would love some answers as I have been taken aback by the response to some of my previous questions. Thank you in advance

I have neighbors who make a point of sharing their wide band wireless access. It does not lessen their computer's capability and their ISP offers unlimited access time so it is not stealing anything they paid for. It is equivalent to being at a neighbor's and reading today's paper if it is next to the chair you are sitting in. One neighbor does encrypt it and makes sure that the other neighbors always have their computer set up with the proper password.

people that don't encrypt their connection should except the fact that someone is going to log on to their connection at some point. i think you would have to be pretty naive to think different. if i had a wireless computer and switched it on and it allowed me free net access then yes, i would use it. These people who don't encrypt deserve every thing they get. Bet they don't leave their car door open when they go shopping.

It is stealing, plain and simple. Why should people have to encrypt in order to prevent theft? It's like saying that if people park wear their jewellery in public it should be stolen as they didn't hide it. Has no-one any morals anymore?

personally, havent borrowed bandwidth.. but i dont think its wrong. .as long as u dont abuse it. Checking ur email here & there is fine. . The internet should be free anyways. . they prolly doing it our of love. . .Imagine if everyone who had wirless & shared it. . you can chek ur email anywhere..
kinda like Japan, japan's a T1 wireless state . .i doubt that will happen her anytime soon. but, i think its cool & lets not forget. . they can see who's (IP) tapping in. .

Personally I use to "borrow" bandwidth. I dont see anything wrong. If they are too stu...stu...stupid to add encryption then that is not our fault.

Keep borrowing and dont forget to thank them for sharing.

it's not your fault that they won't keep their wireless under control. They just let it run wild and take over someone's computer.

if they didn't want people to borrow it, then they would've encypted it, they are simply nice people who want to help other people...
