It's a DADDY LONG LEGS! They were created for the same reason every other thing on this planet was crated, it's called an eco system. Daddy Long Legs eat other spiders as well as various other insects. The Daddy Long Legs eats something and in turn is eaten by something else, and that something else is then eaten by something else and so on. Just because you don't like them, does not mean they are pointless creatures. If someone doesn't like you does that make you a pointless creature.

am i only one getting this wrong - do you mean the crane fly daddy long legs? There's a daddy long legs spider and they're very useful, but the crane fly is a serious pest in larvae form, when they are adults their only purpose is to mate and the rest is spider fodder!

OK, it sound like in the US, a daddy long legs is a harvestman spider or similar - in the UK it's a weird kind of fly, also called a crane fly - yes, you're right they're extremely pointless, unlike many other organisms who possess lashings of point.

Their purpose is to get in your face and bug you all summer long. To fly inanely around the nearest light source, and if that is your monitor in an otherwise darkened room as you type away, blissfully unawares on yahoo Questions then they care not. They were created with that sole intention in mind!

they are a spider, one of hundreds of species of such creatures on our great planet. I've read about the other planets and i gotta say - Earth is THE place to live. Yeah yeah the moon, but it's like a bad restaurant - no atmosphere!
