Looking for a charger that will take the 12v in a car down to 5v and give an amp of about 2.4 but am having trouble sourcing such a devise, or making one up. I ask as i have the creative zen vission m and creative currently are out of stock for this product, will be travelling around australia in a camper and would like to get something sorted to charge my mobile and zen has any one any helpfull knowlege on this. The mobile also runs on 5v but takes an ampage of 0.4 Isw there any devise where the power transformer is seperate from trhe cigarett lighter plug, as this will be easier to wire in to a vehicles circuit.

At RadioShack they sell a universal charger that will charge your Creative and your cell. The procuct is called Igo, and can charge most mp3 players and virtually all cell phones.

You can even get a special Igo charger that will charge your cell and your MP3 player at the same time.

If you have all the chargers at home for all the things you need to charge, rather than have loads of home made cables go to Staples or a similar store and buy yourself a 12v to 240v converter (£20-£30) that has on the 240v side and normal 3pin plug socket.

Keep the engine running though!

I really don't know much details about converting volts.

But, if everything else fail.. Just, get DC-AC converter.. I always carry this around.
using it will allow you to use the same home charger. and it's safe that you don't have to worry about voltages....

well i'm not an expert in mp3s, i do know about ipods. what you should try is going to the brand site of you mp3, then look for what you wan't. they might not have it but thats all i could think of. good luck
