Mireya, I haven't used the Oxy ball, but if you are considering this method of doing laundry let me caution about the Downy Fabric softener ball. After a load of clothes spins and comes to a stop in the washer a small amount of fabric softener remains in the ball. While taking clothes out of the washer this ball can get turned over and the fabric softener will spill out on some of the clothes. Full strength it will stain the clothes. It has to be mixed with water and dissolved to work properly. I went back to using the pour in application and now laundry soaps have fabric softener included . Sometime doing the old fashion way is the safest,
Good luck, Kimmie

I had similar problems with the oxy ball that Kimmie above cautions with the Downey ball. I used it in a particularly dirty "soaker" load after agitation and found that it dissolved on some of the clothing leaving areas that the clothing literally looked like the color was removed. Moreover, it didn't last for nearly the number of loads that the manufacturer claimed it would. Also, in particularly dirty loads with dirt and grass stains, it was completely worthless.

I doubt it.. if it really did work all the Washing Machine Companies would have incorporated this into their design... anything to sell more machines and reduce consumers' costs!
