A mud bath actually, because it first; relaxes your skin, opening the pores up and allowing dirt and other bacteria to exit. The dirt that doesn't leave, the mud soaks into your pores, cleansing and relieving stress as it moves around into your upper layers of skin. Mud was used in ancient civilizations as a disease curer, stress reliever, psychological soother, and even was practiced under some cultures as thought to enhance female and male sexual potentcy.

There is also the form of being wrapped. Some spas offer their patrons to be wrapped in certain dermatologically approved bathing and cleasning cloths and even soaked. A spa near my home allows some who want an even deeper relaxation bath to come and be wrapped up. They first start you off in a cleasing bath, then they wrap you up in medical bandages and finally a coth that utilizes water into the skin. After they wrap you twice, you are carried to a room, where there are several other people, the spa workers place you into your choice of either warm mud, a basil extract, with ginger, rose pedals and some form of scent of your choice. Other type of soaking is mud that they crystalized so when you are placed into the tub, it hardens slightly. Many people become froghtened of that as it starts, but those who've had it done say that it tightens up to the point of relieving so much tension. Eventually, when they relax, so does the bath.
