it is to be notified that patriotism evokes not, only because of poverty and enough way to earn .it is something a great feeling for the nation.we have to accept the factor that not all the people in the military are not from a rich family . there r also officers working who have ignored their parents unwillingness and have come to serve the country.people who fought in indian military for freedom and before freedom were also not totally from poor.but it has now become a blindnatural thinking in people's mind that joining military mostly leads to loss life.that's why rich persons do not allow their children to join army and this is occuring mostly in south only according to ratios. so serving the country does not relates to money only our mind.

Hi thr.,
thts. a good question...
Those who get all the facilities n r given the feather treatment find it fun n exciting to talk 'bout the tough n harsh life of soldiers n patriotism is something that can trigger u to join army but being patriotic doesn't mean showing it outright - isn't it!!
By the way, R U in Army??

Hey Dude ,

Sorry if my ans seems rude to U , But the real fact is no one joins the Indian army for Love N passion , they just do it as its secured job attest till they get old .
Well no one is a real sainik. If so then why cant Rahul G be one of the jawans , well if they come to Indian army with my words then they will be as Maj or Cap .& not jawans.

People talk a lot man abt this Just watch the Congress party Indira Ghandi , Rajhiv are all become very patriot who have given thier life for the nation. But one corner of my heart says they all have become a target for some of their own acts .
Just watch the Ghandi parwar will continue with this funda for next 30 yrs .

This place is for power not for patriotism as mentined by U . some show their feelings but the end of it is just acting to get votes . This is just a divide N rule business .

Folks comments welcome

I strongly suspect the pay for soldiers in India simply isn't high enough to attract upper income people into the ranks. They're much more likely to get a higher education and to gain employment with companies that pay significantly more than the Army.

However, this is true in almost every country, so don't look at it as a particularly Indian phenomena.

WHO JOINS ARMY FOR PATRIOTISM these days. NOBODY AND NOWHERE.

Leave India, in every country say US, UK, even in taliban you will find the same thing. Army is just a job like anyother job. People do their work and they get paid. I RESPECT THEM for what they do, but still its a JOB.

Think properly, and you will find the reason.

This question applies to the whole world and not only Indians.
Rich are born to sacrifice wealth (whether they do it or not, it is a seperate issue).
Those who join are mostly (no....not because of national spirit but).... because they are not born rich or they don't want to work
in office or farms.

ur quo is really good,i mostly agree with u but rich children also join army.Generally they dont join & talk much due to the atmosphere in which they r bought up,family, social, economically factors r also involved.

Don't know about that, but it is probably for the same reason none of the children of our government's top officials (president, congress) have children serving in Iraq. Hmmmmm.

children from business families generally join their family business & carry forward the task of generating employment. the expenses for defence services are from the tax payers money
