The Kiwi, the Emu, and the Penguin. The Moa (extinct). Kiwi, Kakapo and Takahe are on the endangered species list because of human habitat. But all are flightless birds.

There are many Flightless birds such as Ostrich, Cassowary, the Emu, Rhea, Penguin, Nandu.

There are two non-flying Birds found in New Zealand. They are:

1.KIKAPO: Nocturnal Solitary Parrot

2. KIWI: Smallest (chicken Sized) insect-eating bird.

The third one : DINORNIS was the Largest Bird that ever lived in NEW ZEALAND. It lived until the early 1800s but is NOW EXTINCT. HOW SAD!

These three birds are Special Flightless birds of NEW ZEALAND.
