Starting Jan 8th 2007 you will need a passport for everywhere OUTSIDE the US. Including Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, etc.

in canada it will be mandatory as of january 2007, if you are flying. i think untill 2008 you can still drive across with a birth certificate and drivers license. it's good to have a passport anyway, it's handy.

Not yet, but by the first of the year you do. You do need two forms of ID. A picture id and your birth certificate is required.

It's good to have, no one ever questions your idenity w/one. If it has not already become required, it will be as of Jan 1st, but I think it already is, I got one anyway. Can't hurt.
