my husband owns his own truck and i need a good program to keep track of expenses and his earnings

I use Quicken. There was a free one that came with the computer. I have been using it for 3 years and never upgraded, but it works fine for my purpose.

You can also setup a simple spreadsheet using Microsoft Excell or equivalent to keep track of expenses. It is easy to do and do calculations in a spreadsheet. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of mileage etc.

I going to go against the grain of the other answers and say MS Money for a financial program. Only because it is user friendly and it appears as if you are a new to this.

I agree that Quickbooks (Quicken is normally used for personal finances) is probably the best product once you become more advanced in your bookkeeping, but consider using MS Money Premium or Home Business edition.

Once you get more advanced...then step up to Quickboooks.

you can download free expense programs at downloads.com

or use excel and just set up an expense spreadsheet and a revenue spreadsheet

or buy quicken or quickbooks at the store

Quickbooks is good. I believe they have a free trial online too.
