hiya, decided to go on my sims game (original pc one) and remembered that there was a cheat on it (think it was something like rosebud and something) which gives you more money. anyone know exactly what it was? thanks!

Do what the people above have suggested and press ctrl, shift and C together, and type Rosebud.
Do what the other clever people have suggested and type !;!;!;! but only do a few, maybe 10. Then type a random character e.g 5 or m and press enter. An error message will come up saying no such cheat, but if you look at your simoleons, they will have gone up anyway! Just hold the enter button and watch them go. So much easier than typing !;! millions of times.
I think it works, I've been playing The Sims 2 for too long now, but I'm sure that's how I used to money cheta, and believe me, I'm a money cheat fiend!

Ctrl + Alt + C to bring up the cheat box.
Type "Rosebud" followed by ";!;!;!;!" to repeat the command
There was a bug in the cheat system, if you were to type ";!;!;!;!" and then something that was NOT supposed to be in there, for example ";!;!;!;!ooo" the message would say "No cheat found" or something like that BUT it would still credit you for the ";!" you placed before the error
You can type "Rosebud;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!lkajsdlf" to quickly gain the maximum and infinite funds in an extremely short amount of time.

Press " Ctrl + Shift + C " at the same time to open the cheat window
Enter the word " rosebud " for 1,000 simmoleans
Then Press " Ctrl + Shift + C " at the same time again, and fill up the line with " !;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;! " as many as you can fit, then hit enter
("!" repeats the last cheat entered, ";" seperates cheats)

Yeah it was rosebud..That gives you 1000 dollars.Also if you are in Neighborhood mode you can type the word "Nessie"and you can see the Loch Ness Monster in the water.
