I named my eldest boy Adolf

For the same reason we wouldn't name our kids Osoma or Ahkmed. First of all, Adolf Hilter was a horrible person who murdered thousands of people. Secondly, when thinking of what to name your sweet, precious baby, I don't think that most people think, "Wow, he is so cute! We should name him after a murderer"!
P.S. I have worked in prisons for 11 years and have come to the conclusion that if you give your kids messed up names, they WILL PROBABLY wind up in prison! So be kind when naming your baby, or else they will get a new name when they grow up, INMATE!

well not in the USA, most countries have a similar "Adolf" name that some might use today.
"Adolfo" "Adolf"
Well that name brings memories of the bad and evil Adolf Hitler.
kinda like "Bush"... lol

I'd happily call my kid Adolf. It won't do him much good though, as on his third birthday he'll find out my nickname is Leatherface.

Maybe,JUST,maybe because in 1939 a terrible man named Adolf
tried to rule the world by killing off those who were of any race-
religion that he deemed inferior.But,I'm only guessing.
