You have posted a very subjective question. Music, more than anything else is something we can associate with a certain time in our life. For most of us, that time is usually high school. This is why every generation feels that their music was the best, the most creative, the most meaningful etc...
If you graduated high school anywhere between the years of 1984-1989 (roughly) this is the music of your generation. Obviously, not everyone was into 80's metal at the time, but those who were will always have a place in their heart for all of the above mentioned bands.
Obviously with age grows wisdom. All of the incredible things you thought about how great certain bands were at the time become exposed as you grow older.
The best thing to be said about 80's metal is that it's sole purpose was to have fun. 99.9 percent of the songs by the bands you mentioned above were either about trying to get a girl, getting a girl, what you were gonna do with the girl after you got her, in essence the same stuff Usher sings about on every song he's every done.
Was it cheesy? Sure. People look back on it and laugh now, but it's no more hysterical than what people will think in 20 years when they see a video for Juvenile telling people to "back that *** up" or Good Charlotte singing about how girls want "Cars and Money"
Of the 3 you mentioned, Skid Row would probably be considered the heaviest and more "serious" in terms of lyrical content and musical integrity/ability.
My advice is if you wanna have some fun, some laughs, and rock out to some pretty cool guitar solos (a lost art among most of the newer rock bands) then bring on the 80's metal!!

Sure it is worth listening to!
Warrant had a couple of good songs, but they were mostly party boys.
Skid Row was good in the 80's - don't believe EVER that Sabastian is as good as he was back then. He's a poser loser now.
Poison - they were good in their day too.
Now, let me tell you a secret or two about 80's retro metal. Listening? They don't really tell you the good stuff on TV when they're talking about it.
LA Guns.
G n R
Queensryche
Dokken
Def Leppard
Motley Crew
Whitesnake
Judas Priest
Metallica
Megadeth
lots of others too
Those were the rockenest, hardest, kick *** days there was.

Yeah, but stick with the more popular hair bands. There's more choices.
