Tāufa'āhau Tupou IV (aka Siaosi Tāufaʻāhau Tupoulahi) is the King of Tonga until recently who ruled the South Pacific island nation for 41 years, making him the world's fourth longest-serving monarch. In the 1970s he was the heaviest monarch in the world, weighing in at over 200 kg (440 pounds).He died at the age of 88 last Sept. 10 of this year.His son, Crown Prince Tupouto'a, was sworn in as the new king.
Tonga, officially the Kingdom of Tonga, also known as the Friendly Islands is an independent archipelago in the southern Pacific Ocean lying about a third of the way between New Zealand and Hawaii, south of Samoa and east of Fiji. It is the oldest known site in Polynesia with 169 islands with 36 of them inhabited, capital city is Nuku'alofa.
