it is a divx movie on my computer

Sorry, you can't. Once the movie is encoded to DivX with the subtitles they're there forever. The only exception is if you have a separate srt file that came with the movie file. That means all you need do is delete the srt file, move it somewhere else or rename it.

If it's on a DVD, hit the button arcanely marked "subtitles" on your remote until they go away. They may switch to another language before going away. Don't panic. The button will still work. "Subtitles" just happens to be the same in all languages of the world.

If on DVD, you should have a subtitle button on your remote... cycle thru is until they go off... if it is a divx/xvid movie... it is ripped into the movie and you can't get rid of them.

click the subtitles button on yu rremote until it says subtitles off, or go to your DVD menu, and go to the effects page until you get to te subtitles section.
