Sorry about that. From your message, you don't seem to have left the job yet. How about negotiating with your boss a pay cut if business is not going well. Surely in some parts its illegal to fire someone to replace them with another for less pay. This will give you time to think about what other work you can do..
If you have any loan payments outstanding, or are leaving off a rented apartment, house, car, then I would push for you to negotiate staying for now.
You say you won't find another job because of your age? Do you get any benefits from your termination (redundancy etc)...if so try to invest this in something simple that brings "cash" ie rental car, a food stand, anything that brings in the cash. You may have to think about also putting your experience to private consultancy and going private. Start small, use the internet and work from home....

Hey, I have been in a situation where I was fired and it was totally unexpected. I was very, very upset about it. I even have a degree. I'm older, almost 40. I have never been fired before. It isn't easy but you just have to keep on trying. Take any job that you can right now. Just so you can have some income. You may be eligible for some unemployment, not sure if that's an option. Ask friends, family if they have any leads.Just always remember if you have to take a job that you don't like,or even hate, it's only temporary 'til you get something you want. Tap into yourself and see if you have any undiscovered resources you are not using. What ever you do,don't give up hope. Try to laugh about something every day no matter how sad you might feel. Pray.

Can you start your own business? Good (but risky) way to succeed. Some can be started with minimal capital.

Pick something that can grow so you aren't just "buying a job with your capital" as they say.

Best wishes.
