Basically I have just moved in to a new flat and my computer is able to pick up a wireless internet signal from one of our neighbours. Sometimes the strength is excellent and sometimes it is very low. There never seems to be a middle ground. Is there any way I can boost this?

I wish I knew your neighbour to tell them to lock their router so that low life's like you can be shut out. Get your own BB. Why should anyone in here help you with this. You're a disgrace. It's also illegal to use someone else's connection without their permission.

You are not borrowing but stealing. I think it's disgraceful. I have a friend whose signal is weakened by someone next door using it unlawfully. Why should you use someone else's wireless connection free-of-charge?

Stop it at once! How would you like if it happened to you?!?! It's just sending out viruses and using spy ware!! You may get caught out one day, so be very careful what you do. Anyway, you can get cheap ISP such as ntl:, Telewest or BT!

You should go and ask the neighbour to be more considerate in his usage. I'm sure if you explain that you are receiving poor service, he'll stop using his machine altogether to ensure you are happy. If he wont oblige, ask him to pay for your broadband installation.
