Yesterday, I went to a thing with my baby and there was this breast chick and her progeny sitting across from us. She had a tiny month old, but was too scared to feed her own kid. No one would have given a damn, but she eventually got the father to take the fidgeting baby downstairs. When my baby was drinking her bottle, she was all staring at her right crooked, like she was pissed or something. Why do they have to be so evil just because you are feeding your baby? No one was prohibiting her from whipping out a boob, she could've fed hers too. Only difference, I really wouldn't have been staring at her because I prefer not to see chicks boobs, and I doubt anyone else in the gathering would have looked (or cared). So they have to make bottle users feel uncomfortable because they are? Is that what the game is?

I dont think it matters. There are pleanty of things to take offense at in life. How you care for your children in and effort to provide them with the best shouldnt be one of them.

I never cared who was around. If my baby was hungry - out came my breast. I covered up of course. I never look at anyone weird that bottle feeds. As long as their baby is eating, that's all that matters to me. If I saw someone with a baby that was crying and hungry and the mother was not feeding her baby. Then I would say something. I do believe that breastfeeding is best. I also understand that some women can not produce milk and have to bottle feed. As long as the baby is eating.

Feeling guilty for not breastfeeding are we? And I'm curious as to how you know she's a "breast chick"? If she didn't breastfeed, it doesn't sound like she's a breastfeeder to me.

There are a million different reasons why she didn't feed the baby. Maybe she only pumps and feeds from a bottle, so she had her husband take the baby and feed it a bottle. Maybe she's on antibiotics and can't breastfeed right now. Maybe she isn't comfortable breastfeeding in public, so she had her husband give the baby a bottle of pumped breastmilk.

There's no game when it comes to giving your baby the best nutrition in the world.

The first month or so of breastfeeding is very awkward. Both the baby and the mother are still learning. It can be very hard to feed a baby in public while he is screaming his head of because he connot latch on. It can be a little embarrassing for the mother if her baby cannot latch on right away.

Yeah I'm sure you were staring at her trying to make her feel uncomfortable. Honestly I would prefer to see a baby being fed by their mother's breast as it's supposed to be than sticking a thing similar to a dildo (or something else for that matter) to a poor baby's mouth. People like you, who feel so guilty and rotten for not breastfeeding and then try to make mothers who are true mothers and breastfeed, should either have their man pull out or wear a condom..babies shouldn't be born to people who will not do the best for them, and that's breastfeeding. For 9 mos your baby was nourished by you..why would anyone want to stop that? I just don't get selfish people. I wish that mother won't feel like that again and feel proud that her baby is thriving because of her, and her alone and not some nasty crap that his/her mother went to beg at the wic office for

I breastfed all three of my children, and never felt any better or worse than anyone who bottlefed OR breastfed their child. I cant believe she looked down on you like this, and maybe she was feeling insecure, and that was her problem and issue to deal with, not yours... She may have felt that she was doing something better or heatlthier for her baby while you werent and some women feel this way, so dont let the ignorant get to you. Next time it happens smile politly and look away. She will the fool that you smiled at her and you were friendly to her!

I think that you need to get over your self-righteousness and quit worrying about how a breastfeeding mother is staring at you. First time, breastfeeding mothers can be stressed and uncomfortable at first, especially with such a young, newborn. They have alot more to worry about with nipple confusion, proper latching on, engorement, etc. The mom in question was probably worried and should have just left for a quieter place to feed her child. Studies have shown how breastfeeding releases natural calming hormones for the mother and the health benefits for the baby are exceptional.

i think you have some serious issues with women who breastfeed. ive noticed you have complained a great deal about breastfeeding moms in some other q&a. what is your deal exactly?? do you feel guilty for not breasfeeding or what?

anyways... it can be a bit difficult during the first couple of months for women who choose to feed their baby's the right way. yes, i said the RIGHT way. some women dont just take the easy way out. some prefer to work hard to give the best for their children. some decide to just mix up some crap from a can.

I definitely chose to breastfeed, but i can see why that would be irritating. Part of breastfeeding is to possibly do it in public. And as far as her looking disgusted that you were bottle feeding, i can kinda relate. I really don't understand why any woman would chose to formula feed. But, to me she's just as pathetic, letting her baby starve because she was too embarrassed to breastfeed. When i was breastfeeding my son there was no shame, i actually enjoyed seeing people's reactions.

Breastfeeding is natural and healthy. Let's all do it.
No, seriously! I do like to see boobs, and who but a reptile could complain? We are mammals, after all. Only in America could you find such encouragement of public affection while at the same time a distaste for public breastfeeding.
