I heard an old wives tale that it'll hurt the baby's vision if you cut your hair while pregnant? I would like to know for sure if it's safe or not...

Cut your hair. If anything taking care of yourself, physically, mentally and emotionally is in the best interest of your unborn child. You always feel better and look better after a nice hair cut!

Wow what an old wive's tale that is. Did you hear any about not cutting your toenails or else the baby won't be able to walk right?
You are going to be responsible for the health and care of a new human being - empty all that craziness from your head so it doesn't ruin the kid's life.

Like you said, "an old wives tale". Do you usually believe in them? So, if you decide to shave your head bald then would your baby come out blind??? That is ridiculous. Don't be naive. Of course it is safe to cut your hair.

It's just that, a wives tale. There's no validity to cutting your hair effecting your fetus in any way. Some doctors advise you to not color or perm your hair while pregnant because of the chemicals, but there's no reason not to cut it.

The real problem would be trying to cut your 15 weeks pregnancy baby's hair. There you should have problems concerning it's vision.

cutting your hair is perfectly safe and fine. I had my hair cut a few times while I was pregnant with both of my girls, and as of right now, they both have 20/20 vision. The only thing you sould worry about is if you dye your hair.

Don't listen to ever told you that, I have gotten my haircut, died, and even permed during my 5 pregnancies. All 5 boys are perfect. I had asked my dr. about that and all that I had done, she said that they are just all old wives tales and that's all they are. I would go and get your haircut and do anything else that you want to do to pamper your self. After all once the baby gets here you won't be pampering yourself for a while. So go ahead and do it , you deserve it.

I got my hair cut when I was pregnant. My son turn out perfectly fine and he is really smart. I dont think the old wise tale is true

Your hair is dead cells. Nothing can harm your baby by cutting your hair. Some people even believe that it is safe to color your hair while pregnant. The chemicals do not go into the blood stream and as long as you use a low-amonia or no-amonia color nothing can harm anything.

Yes cut your hair. Just don't use Dyes especially black dye. But cutting hair does nothing to hurt the baby.
