How do I work out my monthly wages after tax? Is there a wage calculator somewhere. I haven't received my monthly wage yet as I only started a few weeks back but I need to know how much will be paid into my account monthly. I need to work out the exact figure as I'm trying to put a budgeting plan together.

If you know your weekly wage, just multiply it by 4.33. That will give you your monthly wage. Here's a calculator that is just what you want.

You can get that info from your employer, just ask. They know, from tables, what the deductions will be. Or wait for the deposit. However, direct deposit won't give you the deductions, unless you receive a detailed payroll accounting stub.

Are you certain some first wages are not held back, as a week or so? Some employers do that, but would have advised you.

assuming that this is for U.S.

Until you get your first pay, that will be difficult. You will take your 'gross' wages and then subtract the Federal, State, Local taxes. Social Security, Medicare.

Then, you have to deduct any employer amounts - health care, 401k, parking fees, etc etc.

After you have that number, then divide that into days or weeks and there's your budget.

Here is a start:
Take your annual salary divided it by 12
Substract 6.2% for federal tax
Substract 1.45% for social security

Substract additional for your local tax
Substract any benefits deduction
Substract 401K contribution
