MTV was lost to us years ago. About the time they started showing only 4 hours on average per day of music videos. It is MTV for goodness sake, there should ONLY be music videos on the station.
I have not even watched that channel in years as every time you turn around there is some other crappy real world type show or even worse a soap opera about 14 year olds crying on a beach about how their boyfrend / girlfriend / mom / dog / or doctor left them. I hear now there is a show that spends all its time watching some spoiled brat throw a fit over what band is playing at their 16th birthday party.
BRING BACK MUSIC VIDEOS! AND MAKE IT HALF IN HALF, ROCK AND RAP!

I cant stand it. I am hoping that someday someone comes out with a network that shows music videos and live music performances, etc. instead of hours of programming of people who think they are god's gift to the opposite sex getting naked for no reason. If they would just get rid of the blur spots it might be worth watching but.... anyway, I dont want my MTV.

Sadly, the current generation doesn't even realize that MTV is supposed to show music videos. Now, it's just a kick start for Jackass and other idiotic reality shows!

It died very early on, around 1986. When they started, they wanted just to play rock and publically stated they didn't want to play country. Then they started to play R&B, rap and hip hop which started to kill the station. Then they added original programing and shoved the music aside. There was a host of bad bands in the 90s that they would rather play on their station when they did play music.

no idea, but in it's heyday it was great! the main problem is they don't show music videos anymore. i thought that's what MTV was all about. it really rocked in the 80's. then again so did everything!!

Even the music videos' quality has gone sour. Blame it on road rules
