I have tried on several occasions to use regular makeup, but it never works. This is a classy party I am going to, and I really don't want my tattoo sticking out like a sore thumb. Help please?

I have just the solution but it might be a bit pricey, but it works like a charm, it even has photos of people covering their tatoos. Go to BEN NYE makeup. I took a theater class and all we used was Ben Nye works great, even good for halloween. the link is below. First is how to cover and pics. The second link if you go down to Neutralizers and concealers the last one is tattoo cover, it is only 7.00. Then go back to the menu bar on the left and click on sealers and get the Final Seal (Matte Makeup Sealer) for ony 5.00. The sealer helps it not rub off if you bump into someone or someone hugs you. Might be cheaper than Dermablend or whatever its called. dont forget shipping and handeling. Hope this helps! Thing is, if you need it tonight then maybe find a store that sells Ben Nye but I dont think they do.

Heavy lace ribbon that matches your dress and is wide enough to cover the Tattoo. Possibly a jewelery piece, such as a metal arm band in gold or silver(which ever is most accommodating to your skin type and outfit) will do the trick. A floral, arm corsage.

On a personal note: You shouldn't have to compromise who you are to fit in to where you want to be. The tattoo is a part of who you are. If it, in your mind, was a lapse in judgment and makes you feel uncomfortable, you should make the steps necessary to have it removed. When you allow the opinions of others to influence who you have decided you want to be, you are assisting them in stealing a piece of you from yourself.

I'm stepping off the soap box now...

There is a product by Sally Hansen called Airbrush Legs that is used to cover up stretch marks and scars on your legs. I'm sure it will work on your tattoo as well. I use it and it gives a very natural coverup if used properly. You can find it at any drugstore.

All the waitresses at Hooters have to cover their tatooes up. They go to the make up department at Dillard's here in Little Rock and buy the stuff. There is a special make up sold for the purpose of covering tatooes. You have to locate a store close to you that sells it.

find a nice shrug or light silky wrap and just drape it over your arms so it covers the tatoo, be carefull trying to hide it with make-up sometimes that just draws attention, my friend has a tatoo of her ex-husband on her arm and we had to go to an army ball, and she is re-married and that is what she did, she had a strapless dress with a light wrap. Worked great.

A product called Dermablend works well for tattoos. You can get it in speciality stores (Sephora). Tap it on and work product into skin and cover with powder to set it. Works like a champ

Try wrapping the tatoo with a stylish neck scarf or wear a nice cardigan over the dress.

I don't understand why you'd want to cover it up, unless the subject matter of your tattoo is less than appropriate. I have three tattoos and if any of them are visible, I'm more than proud to show them off. They also make a great conversation starter when people ask what they mean.

you could just keep your tattoo out. I mean that's why you got it right? to show it to yourself and others. it's part of you and part of your personality. So I'd say show it off. Guaranteed it'll get people talking to you and let you express yourself.

But if you must cover it, try that stuff from the beauty shop. it goes on thick tho so be warned.

Speaking from the guy perspective, I would say leave it on. I realize its a classy party, but be who you are - nothing to be ashamed about.
