I was flying from Teterboro, NJ to Columbus Ohio at 4am. there were level 5 thunderstorms 50 miles east of Columbus as we started to descend for our landing. while trying to fly around some storms, we inadvertently entered one of the storms. the plane was violently turned onto its side, while the most eerie St-Elmo's fire I've ever seen was wrapped around the airplane. Glowing purple, and green webs dancing on the windows and projecting from our tip-tanks. it only lasted a few seconds but upon exiting the storm we had lost 8000 feet of altitude and we were heading north, not west anymore. nothing bent or broken. uneventful landing

Once there was a severe thunderstorm that hit my area with dime size hail and damaging winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. Many trees were down and the power was knocked out for a few hours.

Hes going to OU to be a meteorologist
One day I was at work at COACH in the san marcos,tx outlet mall, when it started to hail customers were running in screaming from pain of being hit with gorilla sized hail ( thats what its called the biggest sized hail there is! ) All I could think of was my pretty car that I loved soo much and earned with my own money :( After a 15 min or so session of hail tearing into our store my boss sent me out to determine the damage of our cars, the customers were not happy when I was standing there sCREAMiN my head off about how pissed I am that my was was completly demolished!!! :( :( It was a pretty white gt mustang with new rims and tan leather interior. :( It turned out just like I knew my car was totaled, I got money out of it, but still was soo sad. Everyones cars were totaled about 300+ in the area, windows shattered dents as big as old computer moniters!! So theres your story, My car is under storm damage pics at the bottom.

Category 5 Wilma in Playa del Carmen, Mexico at October 20, 2005 at exactly 11:00 a.m. I know that isn't exactly a thunderstorm, but it is the WORST I have ever been in.

last summer here i Winnipeg Canada, the wind picked up at around 930 pm,i had to physically keep my air conditioning unit from blowing into my 3rd floor apartment,it was hailing then our building got struck by lightning, blowing my tv,computer and phone...it was weird...scary...and because we seldom get tornadoes here,we were probably on the cusp of one ...and i was in a 3rd floor "cardboard box"

In an aircraft.
While eating, entered a sudden storm, the stewardess scrambled to pick up.

A little later dropped 1,000 feet in seconds.

Like the song, "Take My Breath Away"

We were chasing storms in Nebraska, and the storms we encountered that week (too numerous to mention) were worse than anything I've seen here in Wisconsin
